In 2002 Sisi Kapp received her B.A. from Pomona College where she majored in mathematics.  She graduated from Stanford University in 2007 with a PhD in statistics and M.S. in biology.  Her dissertation related to the cluster analysis of mircoarray data.  Since completing graduate school, she has worked at Genentech, Inc. in South San Francisco.  During her time there she has worked on clinical trials of molecules for patients with diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and allergic asthma.  In addition, she has worked on developing diagnostics to identify the patients most likely to benefit from a given drug.

Carol Meyers grew up in nearby Fremont, California.  She received a BA in mathematics from Pomona College in 2000, and a PhD in operations research from MIT in 2006.   Along the way she discovered how exciting and fun math can be in the ‘real world,’ which influenced her to take a job at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  At work Carol
applies optimization, probabilistic modeling, and decision analysis techniques to solve real, important problems in national security and energy research.  Her favorite part of the job is being able to learn something new every day!

Dave Richardson received an Associate of Arts degree from Normandale Community College in Bloomington MN in 1995, but left school early to work full time.  Recently he returned to school, studying Applied Math at San Jose State University.  In the meantime, Dave has worked in the
computer software and video game industry.  He currently works on the core graphics and engine team at Cryptic Studios in Los Gatos, supporting Star Trek Online and other multiplayer online games.  He works on postprocessing effects such as depth-of-field and atmospheric scattering and edge detection and highlighting, as well as lighting and shadowing algorithms and performance optimizations for graphics code.

Brent Wong graduated from San Jose State with a B.A. in Mathematics in 2005.  He started his current career as an unlicensed financial assistant at WaMu Investments in 2006.  He earned his broker’s licenses series 65, 7, and CA Insurance licenses in 2007.  In 2009, he became an investment consultant at TD Ameritrade where he is currently employed.
