History
NLCC 122 Admiral Martin was formed on July 7th, 1978 under the sponsorship of the Navy League of Canada, Saanich Peninsula Branch. The Corps name was granted by Rear Admiral Mike Martin, who was serving as the Commander Maritime Forces Pacific and Commander Pacific Region. The Corps Crest was approved on 14 September 1993, and the cadets celebrated their 35th Anniversary in 2013. During this time, the Corps has had a number of dedicated Commanding Officers, and Officers who have come from various walks of life, such as graduated Sea Cadets, serving and ex-members of the Regular Force, retired businessmen and parents of cadets who have taken an active interest in the program.
In May 2012 Chief Petty Officer Second Class Tyler Knowles was awarded the Navy League Cadet Medal of Excellence and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal for dedication to the Cadet Movement and the Community.
