History of the NLCC in North Vancouver

H.C Wallace #46 was founded February 25th 1958

There were cadets parading as early as 1957, but the warrant for the corps. was not presented until 1958. One of the first Navy League cadets to join were Charles (Chuck) Fisher and Skip Whitfield. The corps is named after Colonel The Honourable Clarence Wallace, who was the Honourary Lieutenant. Colonel and Colonel of the British Columbia Regiment (DCO) and Lieutenant Governor of the Province of British Columbia. The corps paraded in the armoury while the classrooms and offices were in the army hut that stood where the current building now sits. There were three levels in the hut, the basement where a ship's gun was housed, the main deck and the bridge. In the early 1960's there was a fire that destroyed the army hut and a new building had to be built and in the mid 1960's the current building was opened. The corps has gone through many transformations over the years and today still has cadets parading. In 2022, the corps will be 64 years old.
