The New Jersey Society of Medical Assistants (NJSMA) is a non-profit organization established to enable medical assisting professionals to enhance and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and professionalism required by employers and patients. We also protect the medical assistant's right to practice and promote effective and efficient health care delivery through optimal use of multi-skilled Certified Medical Assistants.

“As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.” Maya Angelou 

 

I love this quote because as medical assistants we oftentimes find ourselves helping everyone and anyone who needs us. A lot of times we forget that we need to take care of ourselves before we can help others. This quote reminds us that we can give to others and take care of ourselves. Balance is so crucial to living a healthy life. 

 

As we come closer to April, our board of trustees are working on getting everything squared away for our annual conference! We would love for everyone to join us on April 5th for our General Assembly! The General Assembly is where we conduct the business for the NJSMA. It allows the members who pay their yearly dues to the AAMA to understand how we represent NJ as delegates. It gives insight to what the BOT members do throughout the year. It also gives you the opportunity to become a part of our NJ society to support hosting CEU sessions. Without the board and our volunteers, we would not be able to host these events.

 

We welcome anyone who is interested in learning more about the NJSMA to attend! We look forward to seeing everyone for the conference on April 5-6 at the Doubletree Hilton Somerset Hotel! 

 

Lastly, remember to take care of you! Remember how important you are. Remember that the world is better because you are in it!
