NJSMA President’s Message
Usually, at this time of year I report on what happened at the AAMA Conference. This time, I’m going to let you hear it from someone else…
“This year was my first time attending the AAMA national convention! It was an honor to be nominated to be a delegate for New Jersey! I often wondered what it would be like to attend a national convention and this was my chance! The classes were incredible! I got the chance to learn a lot that I could bring back to the office. I have already been able to use some of the knowledge I have gained to educate patients/staff members as well as some of my friends. Although the knowledge that I gained was a great asset, the most important thing I took away from this convention was the importance of fighting for what you believe in and working hard in everything you do.
I was able to meet past, present and future presidents of the AAMA. I was given the opportunity to speak to anyone I wanted to and ask as many questions as I could. It was exciting to see that there are so many CMAs that are just like me, working hard to build our organization and make CMAs stand out as who you want working for you. It was amazing to see all the passion and work that everybody there really had to make the AAMA as strong as they are. I got to see awards handed out and people be genuinely excited for their societies! One of the best feelings in the world was meeting others from outside of New Jersey and feeling accepted with open arms to talk and discuss everything we could about ourselves and being a CMA.
I met different people from Florida, New York, New Hampshire, Alabama, and North Carolina who I had the pleasure of speaking with and getting to know a little about them and how their State is. Those were just the few I could remember!
I am honored to be a member of the NJSMA as well as the AAMA. I am looking forward to working as hard as I can to be involved and eventually become part of this family that the AAMA has to offer. I had a truly inspiring and incredible time at this convention and I am looking forward to my future as a CMA because of it.”
I wish the entire NJSMA membership the most wonderful holidays.
