Sunday, October 2, 1938, the newspaper EL MUNDO published an article titled: The first Supreme Court of Puerto Rico in which Mr. Federico Acosta Velarde (founder of the Nationalist Party, which he presided between 1925 and 1928 in Puerto Rico) denounces that his father, The Honorable Ángel Acosta Quintero was one of the first judges of the First Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. In July 1940, Mr. Federico Acosta Velarde revised the text of what was published by the newspaper EL MUNDO and published the reviewed work for the second time, in the form of a booklet.

Don Federico Acosta Velarde grandson, through the paternal line, of Don José Julián Acosta y Calbo, born in San Juan de Puerto Rico and of Doña Josefa Quintero Hernández, who was born in Caracas, Republic of Venezuela. His father, Don Ángel Acosta Quintero, was one of the first judges of the First Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.
