2016 SVP recap

I had a great time at SVP this year. I meet many people that I am excited to collaborate with as part of my new position at John Day Fossil Beds. I had some wonderful scientific conversations, and look forward to where they go in the future. My experience with as a co-chair of the student and postdoc liaison committee was much deeper than last year. I learned a great deal about how professional societies work. Helping to run the committee is an exercise in orderly chaos, something any professional scientist should have experience with. I was even awarded the Mary Dawson Pre-doctoral fellowship. The award was a great honor for me as I meet Dr. Dawson when I was a child. It was a wonderful meeting, and I am looking forward to the next meeting.
