About Me and CV

I was born in Hong Kong, but moved all over the world as a child, back and forth from Malaysia, Singapore, the US, China, and the UK (great, but major identity confusion).

I did my undergraduate at the University of Rochester in New York, where I studied Psychology and Classical Languages and Literature. I studied a bit of music at Rochester (home to Eastman School of Music), was secretary of the Classics Society, and worked as a Lab Manager at a psychophysiology lab in the psychology department. The lab role was my first taste of research and fell in love. I completed an independent project on how ostracism affects purchasing behaviours in my final year.

I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life after graduation and decided to do an MSc in Organisational Psychology at the University of Manchester. I completed my PhD in 2019 under the wonderful mentorship of Professors Helge Hoel and Karen Niven. I then worked briefly as a Research Associate at the Institute of Work Psychology at the University of Sheffield. I came back to Alliance Manchester Business School in 2020 as a Presidential Fellow and I'm trying to figure things out as I go along!

In my free time, I enjoy reading (especially Russian lit), listening to music (indie, classical - specifically Baroque and early modernist!), eating, exercising (to eat more), watching trashy TV, crafting, and looking at cute dogs.
