Whanau Ora

Well there was a huge turnout for the hui with Tariana today to discuss Whanau Ora. Tariana was absent due to a whanau tangi, however Te Ururoa Flavell filled in admirably in her place. The panel was made up of officials from government agencies, Health, MSD, TPK who answered questions from the floor. There were some good questions asked, however my impression was that this is still a 'work in progress', so we shouldn't expect it to be a 'silver bullet' to improve Maori Health outcomes anytime soon. As a concept, it offers much to our communities, however the 'proof will be in the pudding', lets hope Marae are not forgotten in the mix!
