Genealogy research sites such as ScotlandsPeople or Ancestry can help uncover more detail on residents and their families if required; useful if a particular resident did not appear in a census return. The information these contain include

The ScotlandsPeople Centre is the official Scottish government resource for family history research providing access to the Scottish birth, death, marriage and census records, Catholic parish registers, Coats of Arms, valuation rolls, wills and testaments.
