NOD Analytics

History and Vision

Nephrology On-Demand (NOD) is an online educational platform whose mission is to educate healthcare providers and students about kidney diseases and hypertension. Programmed by Tejas Desai, MD and launched in February 2009, NOD has taught countless medical students, internal medicine residents, nephrology nurses, fellows and faculty from across the globe. With over 300 natively programmed teaching resources, from blogs to short videos to full-length features, NOD is a one-stop destination for all things related to kidney education.

In October 2015, the NOD Team took the bold and unprecedented step of converting all of our teaching resources into mobile-friendly content. With the help of granular user data and astute analyses by our team, we decided that NOD needed to be as mobile as our users. NOD had to be available at the point-of-care for both patients and providers. Today, all teaching content is optimized for over 95% of mobile devices in the world.

In 2010, Nephrology On-Demand was award the silver prize for best website design by the eHealthcare Leadership Awards Committee. This prize confirmed that NOD blends a unique combination of educational content with a clean and streamlined user interface.

In January 2016, the NOD Team launched NOD Analytics, an enterprise-level analytics firm designed specifically to analyze healthcare-related social media activity for numerous stakeholders. Our team merges clever analytical skills with refined developer talent to create slick mobile apps and unique interpretations of big data. From medical societies to pharma/industry to patient-centered organizations, NOD Analytics offers in-depth quantitative social media analytics at a fraction of the cost of other firms.

The Nephrology On-Demand Team of programmers, thought-leaders, researchers, and writers have worked diligently to put together an award-winning, modern educational platform for users of all training levels. To date, NOD has not accepted any funding from grant agencies, pharma/industry sponsors, advertising revenue, or membership fees. We're proud to have maintained our independence as a teaching platform since our creation in 2009.

In October 2019 we launched the #NephTwitter Archives. The Archives filter the *noise* and make quality educational tweets searchable for the NephTwitter community. In March 2020 we expanded the Archives to include scientific tweets pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our mission has and remains identifying *signal tweets* to help practitioners find and use scientific information on Twitter.

We encourage you to browse our site. Download our content-rich mobile apps and read any of our open-access original research manuscripts. Experience how we blend nephrology education with social media and app development.
