As per requirement from the National Brain Bee, the format changed in 2013 for our testing methods for the NEPA Brain Bee. For anyone who has participated in the past, the written test has been eliminated and the live portion of the bee has been modified.
New Format:
All participants will be spaced through an auditorium. A series of questions will be asked, and all participants will write down their answer to each question on an index card that has their participation number on it. The index cards will be collected, and the panel of judges will determine what answers are acceptable. Each student will be given three strikes. Once you have answered three questions incorrectly, you will be eliminated. The 1st place winner will advance to the National Brain Bee Competition, details are listed on the home page.
No forms of audio or video recording will be allowed, and anyone suspected of using such will be asked to leave to ensure the privacy and legitimacy of the bee. The questions asked are generated by a combination of the National Brain Bee and professors associated with the University of Scranton Neuroscience Program.
