August-December 2018 Article

Five months have been spent writing - getting the detail on several items in printable format for both an eBook and actual publication in a small book format. Not sure my representation of the difficulties of working in a quarry or the locomotives managing transport of both soapstone blocks and workers between sites, but it was a great five months before actual work took over and I had to make a living. Since then (8 months) I've prepared some minor articles one of which was written in hopes of having identified the original #2 steam locomotive, but alas that was not to be when good friend Mark Chase identified the locomotive as being from the Hardwick & Woodbury Railroad of northern Vermont! So the hunt is back on for identifying the #2 and #8 locomotives - where they were built, what they were used for on the N&A (possibly just critters moving soapstone blocks from quarry to mill?), how they were acquired and most importantly, how they were disposed of when no longer of service to the soapstone company. There may never be an answer, but the search continues.
