DUES & DONATIONS
You can now Pay your dues or make a donation to the Lodge right here on our website. There is only a small processing fee for the convenience of dues-payment; and no fee at all for any donations. Thanks!!
A note about the donation selection for the Grand Lodge Per Capita tax - this amount is included in your annual dues. However, if you are an Emeritus or Life member, you deservedly do not pay dues any more. This is just a way that you can help the lodge by volunteering to cover the Grand Lodge fixed costs.

Brethren,
Annual Communication went extremely well last night. We had spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, salad, and dessert for dinner. The lodge opened at 7:30 PM. We read one petition and balloted on another. WB Mike Pappafotis received the Mason of the Year Award for 2021. Those of you that attend lodge know the amount of work WB Mike devotes to the lodge and that he also manages our website, which is the best Masonic website since the one that Solomon, King of Israel had years ago. I personally want to thank WB Mike for all he did for the lodge and for me this year. I think we had a pretty good year in 2021, but that would not have been the case if WB Mike had not helped with all that he did.
After the regular business was concluded, WB Dick Cunningham conducted the election of our 2022 officers. Once the elected officers met to make their selections for appointed officers, PGM MWB Jan M. Giddens installed the officers with the assistance of WB Rusty Cordele as Marshall. I would like to thank both of them and WB Dick for doing such an outstanding job.
On a personal note, I appreciate all the support that I received this year from the officers and brethren of Nelms Lodge. As I said, we had a pretty good year considering the challenges. We conducted two CHIP Events this year. One at Smyrna First United Methodist Church on 13 November and the other on 12 December in conjunction with our Santa Event at Nelms. We had two fund raisers: a fireworks sale in Douglasville, and the Santa at Nelms Event on 12 December. I want to thank the officers that devoted their time to the success of these events. It is good to work with brethren that prioritized the importance of the Blue Lodge over other personal obligations. We welcomed the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls Assembly to Nelms. They have been a tremendous asset to the lodge this year. The Degree Team was very active with practice and degree work. WB Bill McGloin did an outstanding job keeping us on track and insuring that we did the floor work correctly. Thanks WB Bill, I believe we did “fair” work.
Brethren, please come out in 2022 and support WB Russell McDaniel, our in-coming Worshipful Master. WB Russell is a great guy and a dedicated Mason. He deserves your attendance.
That is in for me so best of luck to all and May God hold you in the Hollow of His Hand.
Fraternally,
Jim Moore, PWM

CHRISTMAS 2020
HELLO!!
The goal of the Nelms Degree Team is to present the ancient Masonic degrees to new Masons via allegory, symbols, and historical lessons. The brethren on the Nelms Degree Team are devoted to helping each new Mason, as well as each other, improve themselves in Freemasonry by putting our best apron forward.

We can't thank you enough Anita!
Please take notice of the Nelms Lodge grounds! Through an exceedingly gracious gift, Anita Gaines (daughter of the late W. Bro. George Gaines) has funded the landscaping of Nelms Lodge as a way to thank the lodge and fraternity that meant so much to her father for 60+ years of his life. In 2015 Ms. Gaines hired a landscaper to mow, trim, and blow once or twice per month. In itself, this was a tremendous help to our lodge, but Ms. Gaines did not stop there. She also had a retaining wall built between our parking lot and CVS, and new flower beds installed in several areas. We were able to install a gate in 2015 to help protect our property, and jonquil flower beds on either side of the front door (along the front side of the building). Thanks to her generosity, our lodge now looks better than ever. A plaque was installed on the new wall in dedication to W. Bro. Gaines via his daughter, Ms. Anita Gaines. Thank you Ms. Gaines!
