2:00 pm Garden Judge Workshop I, Comfort Suites
7:00 pm Speaker Sandy Holmes, followed by Plant Auction
Speaker Info: Sandy Holmes and husband Mike have Riverbend Daylily Gardens, and are located near Xenia, OH. Sandy had her first introductions in 2005, crediting the late Steve Moldovan as a strong influence on her focus of large, tetraploid unusual forms with interesting eyes. Her husband Mike currently works primarily breeding stripes and was very active in early "toothy" daylilies. Sandy became a Garden Judge in 2007, G.J. Instructor in 2011, and has coordinated the Shirley Farmer Midwest Hybridizer's Meeting since 2004. In addition to several volunteer positions, she was Region 2 President from 2016-2020 and received the Region 2 Service Award in 2021. She has been awarded the Ned Roberts Spider/Unusual Form Award and Award of Merit for h. 'Walt Lowry' (named for her father), a Presidents Cup and Award of Merit for h. 'Tidewater Elf,' and the Stout Silver Medal in 2020 for h. 'I Lava You.'
