The Band of the Fighting Irish
On a cool football Saturday in autumn, all Notre Dame fans know and love the familiar:
"Ladies and gentlemen, now in its 178th year and
135rd football season--here it is, the Band of the Fighting Irish!"
Three traditional performances are given on gamedays: Concert on the Steps, Pregame, and Halftime.
The Band is comprised of students from the University of Notre Dame, Holy Cross College, and Saint Mary’s College. We have students in every major and eat over 2,000 apples at halftime every year!
The exhilaration a gameday is like no other experience, but it's truly the time spent together in between that makes the Band a family.
