Event Calendaring 2025/2026

The Nature Coast Ramblers has a hike, bike and kayak event each month with adjustments for holidays, special events and occasionally weather.  

Typically we have a paddle the first week of the month, a bike during the 2nd week of the month, and a hike during the 3rd week of the month.  The fourth week of the month may be utilized for make-up dates due to the weather or other special events that occur from time to time.  The day of the week an event occurs on will be determined by the individual who has volunteered to lead the event. We'll be posting further details as they become available.

We currently have leaders for the events occurring in 2025.  Below is a calendar of events and dates in 2025/2026 for which we still need leaders.  We are looking for  more members to volunteer as event leaders for hiking, bicycling, and paddling events. 

Many Ramblers have stepped up repeatedly to lead, but we need additional help. If you have not led one of our events, would you consider doing so?  Preparation doesn’t involve much.  The Coordinators and other leaders will help you get started.  Please reach out to the Coordinators to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Below is a list of events that have been done in the past and that you may want to consider leading or co-leading sometime this season. Also below is a list of Boat Launch Sites for your immediate reference.

Nature Coast Ramblers 2025 Election Information:

Cathy Proveaux, Vice President  and Kent Barkhouse, Treasurer, are retiring from their positions at the end of this year.  Anne Lunk has retired as our Past/Retired President, a position created to assist a new president. That assistance is no longer needed.

An election was held on December 6th at the Nature Coast Ramblers Fall Membership Meeting to fill those positions, which expire on December 31, 2025.

• Bob Bromley was elected as Vice President and will assimilate the duties of the Member at Large .

• Connie Vesper was elected as Treasurer.

• Wendy Walters was elected as Co-Treasurer.

• Kerry Thompson was elected as Webmaster.  

Bob, Connie, Wendy and Kerry have been very active in our club activities  and will bring much expertise to their new positions.

We look forward to working with them  and ask you to join us in our congratulations. 

We want to thank Anne, Cathy, Kent,& Joey for the years of the time and efforts they put in to keep the Nature Coast Ramblers a fun and active club, resulting in so many new friendships for our members.   

Kent Barkhouse was instrumental in organizing the Nature Coast Ramblers as a nonprofit 501(c)(7) in 2012 and has served as the Ramblers' treasurer since then. With his wife Joey's assistance, they maintained the membership which included welcoming new people to our club and leading paddle trips.

Cathy Proveaux has been V.P. Since 2023. She has been a great help planning and feeding us at our membership meetings.
