Following some time out of the workforce to look after a baby full-time and to complete my PhD thesis, I returned to work 1.5 days a week in July 2012 to work as a casual tutor/supervisor in the Department of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne.
During 2011 I was a project officer on a casual basis in the Faculty of Science at the University of Melbourne, assisting their IT team with various projects.
Between January 2005 and February 2007, I worked in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Melbourne as their Casual Teaching Coordinator. I was responsible for developing a new hiring system (PHP/MySQL) and training casual teaching staff, amongst various other administrative and technical tasks. The hiring system was finally retired in 2019. I was also part of the department teaching committee.
I worked at Sinclair Knight Merz with their infrastructure unit as a graduate transport modeller from December 2002 - January 2005. I was involved in a variety of projects, including modelling pedestrian behaviour in Melbourne's Sports and Entertainment Precinct for the 2006 Commonwealth Games and investigating the effects of bicycle lanes for VicRoads.
I was on leave of absence from SKM during August - November 2004, when I was working as a part-time tutor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Melbourne. Between March 2004 and November 2006 I had experience in a range of teaching roles, including lab demonstrating, tutoring, guest lecturing, supervising software engineering projects, project and exam marking, and managing casual staff.
I have completed work experience at SKM (July 2002), Maunsells (July 2002), ARRB (November 2001 - April 2002), and Arups (October 2001), all with their transport modelling groups.
