Dr. Anglemeyer was born 1927. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State 1950, and graduated from medical school in 1958. He began family medical practice in Nappanee, in 1959. He enjoyed his Nappanee practice and serving the community for 50 years, while delivering over 3,000 babies. He retired from medicine in 2008. In his spare time, Dr. Anglemeyer enjoyed trap shooting and hunting.
The Dr. Walter Anglemeyer Scholarship is open to all high school seniors, including homeschooled students or post high school students. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to further their higher education to any accredited secondary educational or vocational programs in the fields of, but not limited to areas of conservation related career.
Career examples would include: environment research or science, natural resources, wildlife education, forestry, wild life management, conservation officer, park ranger, outdoor education, or any natural resource program.
Should be a high school graduate or currently senior high school student. The scholarship will be awarded, if the applicant meets all eligibility requirements and upon final review and approval of the Review Committee.
Dr. Walter Anglemeyer scholarship offers several $1000.00 one year scholarships on the basis of merit. The scholarship will be awarded, if the applicant meets all eligibility requirements and upon final review and approval of the Scholarship Committee.
Should be a high school graduate or current senior high school student.
Demonstrate acceptance to a university, college or trade school leading to a diploma or trade certification.
A complete application must contain ALL of the following required documentation:
A certified copy of the applicant’s high school transcript.
Record of leadership involvement in high school, awards, etc.
Two Nomination/Recommendation letters.

Recipients are chosen from all applications based on their academic accomplishments, civic contributions, involvement in school activities and their community, – without regard to family financial circumstances, gender, race, ethnic origin, or religious preferences. Only qualifying applications will be considered. Spelling and grammar are important factors when considering applications.
