Industrial Rolling Stock

[I had shown links to the Gnatterbox, the Gn15 Forum, where many of these builds were detailed, but the Forum is no longer available and the links don't work.]

WOOD BROS

WATTS'

For the mining layout I needed a couple of rakes of tubs and a spoil skip. Batch-building eight tubs reduced the tedium.

Here is half the batch, in varying states of decrepitude. They are made from Pepper7 tub kits, but the original wooden chassis has been converted into steel by labourious addition of plastic strip. The skip was rather quicker to produce:

This started as a Peco tipper in 0-16.5 scale, but I have messed about with it to make a small Gn15 skip. The details of the work on all these wagons is here:

I thought that the miners would need transport to the remote hillside, so I looked for some prototype that looked appropriate:

The manrider is very loosely based on one at the Stanhopeburn Fluorite Mine, and is again built from plasticard. Details of this build are at http://forum.gn15.info/viewtopic.php?t=8990

And here the battery loco and manrider together. The driver is a much-butchered Schleich driver figure, and couplings are DG.
