Welcome!

The purpose of this site is to record the reconstruction of my 1995 Ford Probe GT. Bought brand new, the car was my daily ride up till 2006, when it became a back up car. For the next five years it mostly sat in the driveway, barely driven. Several times I thought of selling it, but always someone would make a comment about the great looks of the Probe. Even perfect strangers would approach me in parking lots, telling me how they used to own one and wished they never sold it. So, late it 2011, I decided to spend the money and fix it up. I have no idea where this is going to lead, but it's going to be fun!

I'm also using this to learn more about working on cars. I've always performed minor maintenance - oil change, spark plug changes, tune ups, etc. Never any major repairs. So, I'm going to attempt to do everything myself but any major engine work.

The car needs everything!! Brakes, shocks, engine work, and of course the hydraulics don't work on the rear hatch. The body is actually in pretty good shape, considering I live in New York State, the land of the salt trucks. The photo in the header is how the car looks at the start. Since it lost it's safety sticker in 2010 because of the brakes, that's where I started.
