What We Sail
We race and sail five exciting one‑design classes:
Star 45, Soling 1 Meter, V‑32, DragonForce 65, and DragonFlite 95.
Check out club Calander to see which classes have events on which days.
We’re proud of our long history in both local and national competition. MVMYC has hosted major AMYA National Championship Regattas, including:
CR‑914 NCR
EC‑12 NCR (with 61 boats!)
ODOM NCR
US1M NCR
Multiple Star 45 NCRs & Regional Championships
V‑32 NCR
We’re also home to multiple National Champions across Star 45, US1M, Soling 1M, and V‑32 classes.
Come one, come all—seriously.
All ages, all experience levels, men and women, seasoned sailors or total beginners… everyone fits in here. Our members range from first‑timers to active National Champions, and ages span from the mid‑30s to 80+.
Whether you want relaxed, friendly sailing or intense one‑design racing, MVMYC has a spot for you.
At any of our scheduled Wednesday or Sunday events, a club member will happily hand you a transmitter so you can feel what RC sailing is really like. Even big‑boat sailors are surprised by how similar—and how uniquely fun—RC sailing can be.
From April through October, we sail on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Check the CALENDAR/SCHEDULE for exact times and special events.
We mix scored racing (for those who love competition) with laid‑back fun days (perfect for learning or relaxing). At the pond—and at our winter meetings—you’ll hear plenty of talk about rules, tactics, tuning, rigging, and boat building.
