Exploration of Mars

India currently plans an orbiter mission to Mars. No timeframe has been provided. The mission goals enlisted so far are:

• Upper Atmospheric studies – it’s interaction with solar radiation and solar winds
• Assess and understand water-rock interaction on the Martian surface
• Study the Martian moon Phobos.

We have started a Phobos-Deimos Project challenge to address student interest in the same.
