Research Interests

My research is primarily concerned with how word order and prosody interact, and how prosodic evidence can be incorporated into the formal grammar. In particularly, I am interested in how information structure and prosody interact in Saudi dialects. I am also concerned with how word order is reflected in syntax. More recently, I have developed an interest in the computational modeling of prosody.

1. how categories of information structure are prosodically encoded in Najdi Arabic,

2. how interrogatives and prosody interact in Hijazi Arabic, and
