Interprofessional education and collaborative practice can play a significant role in mitigating many of the challenges faced by health systems around the world. The Framework for Action on Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice is the product of the WHO Study Group that offers strategies and ideas that will help health policy makers implement the elements of interprofessional education and collaborative practice that will be most beneficial in their own jurisdiction. Following the principles enunciated in the framework, the intent of this initiative is to build the Indian Interprofessional Education and Practice Network (IndIPEN) in collaboration with the Academy of Health Professions Educators (AHPE), a group of like-minded health professionals who have keen interest in the development and advancement of health professions education in India.

• To advance interprofessional collaboration across the healthcare system.

• To advance research in all aspects of interprofessional education and practice.

• To promote, demonstrate and advocate for, the benefits of Interprofessional Education (IPE) / Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPC).
