Northwestern University Career Services - They provide individual career advising on academic and nonacademic career paths for masters and doctoral students enrolled in TGS academic programs on both the Evanston and Chicago Campuses. They have both scheduled and walk in office hours.

NU Writing Place - Graduate students may book appointments for individual writing consultations with Graduate Writing Fellows (PhD candidates at Northwestern) to review a variety of writing, including papers for coursework; conference papers and presentations; journal articles and manuscripts for publication; dissertation proposals and chapters; and materials pertaining to the academic and non-academic job markets.

Lynda.com and Northwestern have partnered to offer University students, faculty and staff unlimited, on-demand access to a full library of online courses, including Auto Cad, Adobe Illustrator, and programming training courses. Go here to learn more about how to set up your Northwestern lynda.com account using your NetID and NetID password. This is just one of many MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) websites, including Coursera, Udacity, MIT open courseware, Khan Academy, edX, etc. Online courses are pretty awesome nowadays.

McCormick Office of Career Development - They work with PhD students on their individual job search. Additionally, they organize a series of workshops named the PhD Summer Seminar Series to engage PhD level students in the tools related to their career development. The workshops have included topics such as alumni panels, mock negotiations, leadership skills, as well as how to deal with non-disclosure agreements.
