Ronald McDonald House

Details: Volunteers will be assisting staff in various tasks around the Ronald McDonald House, including but not limited to basic household chores, meal preparation, and greeting families in the house. Sign up with the link below. Volunteers MUST sign the waiver linked to be eligible to volunteer.

American Red Cross Blood Drive
Date: Wednesday, 10/15/2025
Time: 10:00 am-4:00 pm
Location: Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (1300 area, 640 S. Shaw Lane, East Lansing, MI 48824)
Details: Volunteers can either help with registration or canteen duties, both of which will earn you 5 points. Registration volunteers assist with checking donors in when they arrive. Canteen volunteers ensure that the water, juice, and snacks are fully stocked on the table for donors to use after donating. If all of the volunteer slots are full, you can donate blood and send proof to the Pre-PA Club email to earn points. Sign up with the link below:

Hope Lodge Donation Drive
Date: November 5, 2025 - December 5, 2025
Details: The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge offers a home away from home for people facing cancer along with their caregivers when cancer treatment is far away. They are a non-profit organization that greatly benefits from volunteer donations for their facilites. To earn points with Pre-PA Club, you can purchase items from their wishlist, linked below, and email a photo of your receipt to msuprepa@gmail.com. Each purchased item counts as 1 volunteering events, earns you 5 points for each item.

Alternative Spartan Breaks
Attendance would count for 2 volunteer events (10 points), see ASB website linked below for more info.
Since 1991, Alternative Spartan Breaks has provided Spartans with quality service experiences around the country and the world. Modeled after the Citizenship Schools in the 1960's, Spartans are educated on a wide range of social issues as well as our 8 components before attending their experience. Through education and service it is our hope that our Breakers continue to give back to their communities and become community collaborators.

Equiduct Tutoring Volunteers
Details: Equiduct is a program run by MSU students, where volunteers tutor and mentor students in the Lansing community. They are currently in need of tutors; this is a great opportunity to get some volunteering hours in for your PA school applications! The flyer is attached in the email sent out on 9/29/2025. If you have any questions, please email Jessica at lesselje@msu.edu.
Membership Requirement: This opportunity is not affiliated with MSU Pre-PA Club and will not count towards your volunteering requirement for membership, but is a great thing to add to your resume and PA school application!
SCAMP Medical Aide
Details: SCAMP is a unique five-week summer day program designed for children and adults with special needs, encompassing a wide range of emotional and physical diagnosis. As a medical aide, you’d ensure the health and wellbeing of Scampers, Student AIdes (SA), Adult Aides (AA), and Lead Teachers (LT). Many participants have underlying health conditions that impact their lives, and are unable to properly recognize and maintain the conditions on their own.
