Being a member of Pre-PA club has been an extremely valuable experience for me. In my free time I enjoy working out, shopping, and hanging out with friends and family. Feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions! I am looking forward to a great year!

I currently work as a patient care technician at at The University of Toledo Medical Center in orthopedics, and previously worked as a PCT in an urgent care setting. In my free time, I love to hike, go for runs, hang out with friends, and attend MSU athletics. Feel free to reach out with any questions, I’m looking forward to meeting you all this year! Go Green!

Treasurer: Emma Flowney (flowneye@msu.edu)

I’m Emma and I’m the club treasurer for the 2023-2024 school year. I’m a senior with a major in neuroscience and psychology. One thing I enjoy about being in the pre-PA club is the amount of resources it brings. Getting insight from practicing PAs and program directors from across the US is really helpful when trying to navigate the application process. I currently work as a PCT on a medical oncology floor at Sparrow hospital and also as a medical assistant at a primary care office. Some of my hobbies are baking and playing volleyball with friends. I’m so excited to meet you all in the fall!

Volunteer Events Coordinator: Nick Carlier (carliern@msu.edu)

Hi! My name is Nick Carlier and I will be serving as one of the volunteer events coordinators for the MSU Pre-PA club! This will be my third year in the club and my second year serving as an E-board member. I am currently a Lyman Briggs senior studying Human Biology with a minor in Bioethics. I enjoy being involved in the Pre-PA club as it is an opportunity to get to know more about the PA profession and where the profession is headed. Additionally, I love that the Pre-PA club provides opportunities to volunteer and serve others in the community. An interesting fact about me is that I am an Undergraduate Learning Assistant in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and Lyman Briggs College. Specifically, I teach Introductory Microbiology (MMG 301) and Lyman Briggs General Chemistry (LB 171 and 172). Teaching is one of my passions as I believe that it builds skills in verbal communication that will be useful in interacting with my future patients. Some of my hobbies include skiing, biking, playing the viola and the violin, and gardening. Please reach out to me if you are interested in volunteering or if you have any questions about the club!

Volunteer Events Coordinator: Austin Huckins (huckinsa@msu.edu)

Hi everyone! My name is Austin Huckins, and I will be one of the Volunteer Events Coordinators this year. I am a senior in Lyman Briggs studying human biology with a minor in bioethics. To earn patient care experience, I work as a nurse assistant at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital and have worked here for just over two years. I greatly enjoy this position, and I feel that it has given me a solid foundation in healthcare. I have benefited immensely from participating in the Pre-PA Club, as it has allowed me to learn more about the PA profession and what it takes to gain acceptance to a program. My decision to become a PA is much more informed due to what I have learned at club meetings. Outside of academics, I enjoy using my time to play soccer, shop, travel, bike, cook, and spend time with friends and family. Please email me with any questions you may have, and I wish you all the best!
