Mr. Zerega

Mr. Zerega is a special education teacher at Norwalk High School. He is responsible for co-teaching classes such as, English II or III.  He supports students with mild to moderate disabilities in these classes while promoting academic skills and learning strategies. His expertise in helping students develop learning strategies and reading skills is incorporated into his lessons within the regular classroom to help all students improve these skills. 

He earned a Master's degree in Special Education with a specialization in learning disabilities from Hunter College CUNY and a Bachelor's of Science from New York University. More recently, he earned a workshop certificate in Teaching Reading and Study Skills to students with ADD and Learning Disabilities from Landmark College and has participated in several other workshops to help develop extensive knowledge on these subjects.

As a case manager, Mr. Zerega works to develop individualized education plans and coordinates their implementation.  He collaborates with classroom teachers and families of these students to help make a positive impact on the students’ growth into responsible and self-directed learners. He is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children.
