For the Teacher

This unit is designed to provide secondary students instruction that will help them become more aware of how they remember the facts, dates, events and vocabulary that school typically asks of them.

The lessons are desinged to meet the National Education Technolgy Standards and Performance Indicators for Students (NETS-S).

Content:

    Students will demonstrate understanding of 10 memory principles that affect learning. (Standard 1)

    Students will deomonstrate understanding of working, short-term, and long term mememories and a basic grasp of the biological factors affecting memory.(Standard 1)

Process:

    Students will complete a Pre-test questionaire and email it to the teacher. (Standard 2)

    Students will access the content via a video link, powerpoint, and webquest. (Standards 3, 4, 5, 6) 

    Students will confer with teacher via email to monitor progress. (Standard 2)

   

 Product:

    Students' understanding of the material will be checked through an on-line quiz. 

    The unit's culminating activity will be a creative personal reflection that can be produced using either powerpoint, video, podcast, or written communication sent electronically. (Standard 4, 5,  6)
