The Game
Sudoku is a puzzle derived from the swiss made magic square and the latin square, developed by Euler. In the present era, a similar puzzle to Sudoku - number place - appeared in the 1970s in American magazines. The idea was copied from time to time, but the hype started when it was published in the nikoli magazine in Japan.
The Sudoku board game is played on a 9x9 grid, divided into rows, columns, and 9 blocks of 3x3 squares. The objective is to fill the empty squares with the digits 1-9, so that each row, column, and block contains each of the digits 1-9 (so it is not allowed for any digit to appear twice in the same row, column or block). To complete the puzzle the board is already filled with some digits, the missing digits can be found out by logical thinking, so every Sudoku puzzle has only one correct solution!
