A Message From Mr. Ulrich
Hello Parents and students. I am sending this out through Synergy so parent please share this with your students and have them share this with their friends to make sure everyone knows what is going on. Please read this entire email then have the students fill out the survey and sign up for the remind then if you have more questions please email me or send me a message in remind.
Do to school being closed until April 13th at the earliest I will be doing some online teaching starting next week (March 30th). I will be taking this week to make sure that I have everything that I need to be able to effetely teach the important material that is left in the semester. I will be going over chapters 4 and 5 and if time remains I will teach important parts of chapters 6 and 7. At this time I do not know what assessments will look like, TUSD and UHS are looking into options. If you are worried about your grade and how this will effect your graduation please know that I want you to be successful and as long as you are willing to work with me your grade will be fine. I do not want this to be the cause of anyone failing but do know that you will need to show that you have a basic understanding of the important material.
Students please fill out the google form at https://forms.gle/dVTVArLEn4tH87wX8 to let me know what kind of technology you have access to at home and how much time you can spend doing math work. My plan for online teaching is to host zoom meetings daily at 10 AM with a typical lesson. Zoom is a free meeting host website that can be found at zoom.us. To join a meeting you do not need to sign up for an account but they do have a free account that you can sign up for. Zoom has a record feature that I will be using so I can post the lesson for people that cannot attend live. I will also post useful links on my webpage about each lesson at https://sites.google.com/site/mrulrichuniversityhighschool/ as well as zoom meeting information and other important information. After each lesson I will stick around in zoom to answer questions or to help with problems until noon. I can also be available at other times throughout the day by appointment, just drop me an email or a remind with what time you would like to meet and I can set up a zoom meeting.
I have also set up a remind for each of my class where I will be sharing the zoom meeting information. This is also a good way to communicate with me if you need help. Due to remind class size limits I have set up a separate remind for each class. I would like all students to sign up and parents feel free to join as well. Here is the information to sign up. You can text the class name to 81010, use the links provided or sign up on the remind website with the class name.
