I have worked at Nottingham High School as a Science Teacher since 2006. I hold dual NYS certifications in both Living Environment and Special Education.
I attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!) for undergraduate college and received a Masters of Science in Teaching from LeMoyne College.
I grew up in Syracuse and attended Ed Smith. In 7th grade I moved to Cicero and graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School in 1994. I am proud of my hometown roots and am deeply passionate about giving back to the community I grew up in.
I became a NYS Master Teacher in 2017 and am grateful and privileged for the opportunity to work with colleagues across the state to improve my pedagogy, deepen my understanding of STEM subjects, and gain experiences that can be used to further motivate and recruit young adults to become STEM teachers in New York State.
I am currently matriculated in the Syracuse University doctoral program in pursuit of a Ph.D. in Teaching and Curriculum.
I achieved my first publication in 2017 when I coauthored an article in Zebrafish magazine.
