"L to J"** Fluency Tips:

A FRACTION TO A DECIMAL: Read the fraction. Listen to how you say it. Does it give you a "hint" to what it would look like? For example, 0.625 is "zero and six hundred twenty-five thousandths." As a fraction that would be 625/1000. Once you get it as a fraction divide the top and bottom by the SAME number (common factor) until you can't divide them both by the same number!
DECIMAL TO A PERCENTAGE:
- If you are given a decimal, take that decimal multiplied by 100 to get your percentage. 0.66 x 100 = 66%
- Turn the decimal into a fraction if that fraction is over 100 you have your "per"cent ("per"hundred) 0.66=66/100=sixty-six hundredths=sixty-six "per" hundred=66%
CREATING AN EQUIVALENT FRACTION: Let's say you have the fraction 3/4. You want to make an equivalent fraction, but all you know is the numerator (the top number) is 18/?. You will need to find the denominator by multiplying the four of "3/4" by the same number that you would multiply the three to get the "18" in your new fraction. 3 x 6 = 18 that means you need to take 4 x 6=24. Your new fraction would "18/24."
