After discussing what we wanted to focus on, we agreed to translate SEL for students and their mood check ins into a matching game of cards where students, depending on their mood, would receive the according matching game - angry, sad, happy, at peace, - and play it for the sake of affirmations to "amplify their inner magic". The breakdown of the group collaboration is as follows:
As a team, we all researched possible SEL MIT APP videos that could help us reach our goal of bringing in SEL into the classroom via an app. We selected the matching game and met via zoom to breakdown how we were going to achieve the SEL component as a game.
The Designer Page and app graphics were completed by Ivania
Using Canva, Ivania produced images that depicted magic amplification and those were the ones used as the game's playing cards.
They then were shared and used for the code blocks as pngs in the MIT app program.
Ivania presented on the designer page building, and wrote its respective instructions to follow.
The block code and app demo were completed by Stacey
After following the instruction in the video, the images from the video were replaced with the images from Canva and adjusted some settings for our matching cards to fit to screen.
Stacey built a functional app and screen recorded a mock up game for demo purposes.
Stacey presented on the first procedure "reset", and wrote its respective instructions to follow.
The Instructions and assessment page were completed by Yocelin
Yocelin created the positive affirmations for the emotions we wanted to convey.
Yocelin then built a functional app to produce the instructions for the "flip" procedure.
Yocelin presented on the second procedure "flip", and wrote its respective instructions to follow
