Technology Education (Tech Ed) is an exploratory course providing 7th grade students instruction in technical career areas. Students will learn through
applied, hands-on activities in computer-based and shop projects.
Goals
Students will:
Design, engineer, and build things using the same methods that modern, successful companies use today.
Develop an understanding of industry-standard software used to complete image editing, digital design, desktop publishing, computer animation,
3-D design, and a digital portfolio.
Identify and work with equipment and materials needed to create quality products in areas such as technical drawing, construction, and screen-printing.
Projects
Projects may include but are not limited to*:
Using the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to edit images, design a logo, create an animation, and produce a business card.
Designing a product in 3-D using Google Sketchup.
Creating technical drawings.
Exploring alternative energy.
Design and build a CO2 Racecar.
