Welcome to second grade! I'm so excited to be your child's teacher this year and begin my 14th year in second grade at OLM and my 29th year of teaching. Prior to teaching second grade, I taught for many years in first grade. I received my Elementary/Special Education degrees from Holy Family University.
When I am not in the classroom, I cheer on my daughter, Meghan, at her various activities, especially when she's on stage. She's in her junior year in college this year. I also love animals, nature, flowers, walking, the beach, coffee,80's music ,shopping, and roller skating.
I want your child to love school and be excited about learning. The best way to learn is through experience, so I like to teach with hands-on activities. Each child is unique and has different learning needs. I use different teaching methods to ensure student success, big or small.
I believe in a learning environment in which students feel safe, comfortable, and where expectations are high. I let the children know that I want them to do their PERSONAL BEST each day. I always remind them to say, "I CAN" or "I can't yet".
Another important message that I try to instill in the children is "practice makes progress". I also want to help them grow spiritually and become closer to Jesus in all that they do and as they prepare for this extra special sacramental year.
I am very blessed to have your child in my classroom this year. Your child is a gift from God. He/she shines in his/her own way and I can't wait to be part of that :)
I'm looking forward to a wonderful year together filled with respect, fun, happiness, success, growth, and learning more each day.
