I earned my Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Columbia College. The four years I spent working on my undergraduate degree, I played 1st base for the Columbia College Cougar softball team. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia this past May with my Educational Doctorate in Literacy. My dissertation focused on what reading and writing looks like in a primary classroom during science and engineering instruction. I look forward to expanding my knowledge as a teacher. I am excited to taking the things I have learned at using them in my teaching.
I spend my spare time outside and with my family and friends. I have two wonderful daughters, Madison and Taylor.
This will be my 16th year with Columbia Public Schools. I have taught 2nd grade, a 1st/2nd multi-grade class, and Title I. I currently work as the district's STEAM Specialist. I get to support the two STEM schools in the district, Benton STEM Elementary and Jefferson Middle School STEAM Academy. I also support the two other lottery schools in our district as well as any other building that would like to develop a more integrated curriculum or implement Project Based Learning in their classroom.
At any point in the year, please feel free to contact me by phone at 573-214-3210 ext. 47430 or by e-mail at hmccullar@cpsk12.org.
More information on my teaching experience can be found in my resume.
