Week 1
- This week we will write the Introduction to our City in Michigan writing project.
- Place the name of your city on the top line, above the (Introduction: Heading).
- Write an introduction to your writing project using information and sensory details that are comparable to the "Pure Michigan" videos that can be found using this link: Pure Michigan Videos
- Include at 3-5 sentences.
- Topic sentence states the name of city and location.
- Author describes at least one activity someone could do in their city. (2-3 sentences)
- Concluding sentence includes an invitation to the author's city.
Week 2
- This week's chapter is Chapter 1: Descriptive Writing
(4-7 sentences)
- Place the activity on the top line of Chapter 1 for the writing project.

- First sentence: city name and activity/place/event
- Middle sentences: 4-5 senses used to describe the activity/place/event (see, hear, smell, taste, touch)
- Concluding sentence: city name and activity/place/event
Week 3
- This week's chapter is Chapter 2: History of City - Sequence Writing
(4-7 sentences)
Place the title, History, on the top line of Chapter 2 for the writing project.

- Middle sentences: 3-4 major historical events
- Concluding sentence
Week 4
- This week's chapter is Chapter 3: Seasonal Events and Activities
Comparison Writing with Two events/places/seasons
(4-7 sentences)
Place the title, Seasonal Events and Activities, on the top line of Chapter 3 for the writing project.
- First sentence: city name and the comparing events/places/seasons
- Middle sentences: similarities and differences (How are they alike? How are they different?)
- Concluding sentence

- This week's chapter is Conclusion

- Chapter 2: History - Using sequence, tell about the establishment of your city (first section), major historical events (second section) and how it was named and nicknames (third section).
- Chapter 3: Seasonal Events and Activities - Using comparisons, tell about events and activities that occur in your city and in which season take place. (Two activities in two different seasons.)
- Conclusion: Summary - What makes your city special? Why should people visit your city?
- About the Author - Tell your name, age and why you picked your city in Michigan.
