Dear Families,
The first three days of school have been truly awesome!! The students are doing great learning and following the classroom rules and routines. I can already tell it's going to be a great year! Thank you so much for all of the tissues, wipes, and pencils. We have a great supply to start the year.
Next week we will continue to work on learning the routines, but I will likely also be starting some pre-assessments. After that, we will be moving right along with the district curriculum and assessments. After next week students will be getting homework. They will bring it home on Friday and it will be due the following Friday. The homework will be a reading log and a few words to practice spelling. There may be an occasional extra homework assignment, but most of the time it will just be the reading/spelling.
A few things:
*please remember to send a snack to school with your child every day. I will eventually have a few extra snacks for those times when people forget, but will not be providing a snack for students every day.
*If you sent your child to school with supplies that were not on my list I may have asked them to put some items back in their backpack if we didn't have room in the pencil box. There are certain items that they are required to have so other items may have to go back home/backpack.
*Students will be bringing their binder/folder home every day. This is where you should look for any school work or items that need to get home. It is also where you should put any items (notes, lunch money etc) that need to get to me.
I hope you all have a great three day weekend!
