"Without Mathematics, there is nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything around you is numbers."
Shakuntala Devi
Hello everyone, welcome to our Socially Distant Math class.
First of all I pray and hope that during this time all of you are safe, healthy and financially stable. These are very difficult times and I know that a lot of us our struggling, either with finances, mental health or our physical health. 2020 is definitely a year like none we've ever seen before, it feels like every single day something is happening that will go down in history and all we can do is try and take action in such a way that we will be able to look back and know that we stood on the right side of history.
With all that being said I know that Covid has affected everyone differently. I know that some you are doing great and that finding some where to do your course work from home will not be a problem, but I also know that some of you are now home babysitting little siblings, sharing a room or if you're like me you live in a very small home with little space to set up a learning station, so coming back to school maybe stressful, know that I am just as nervous and scared but I am committed to your well being and education. This school model is new to both of us and the only way that this is going to work is of were working hard and communicating to keeping each other informed on what is going on when.
So the very first thing I want to do is tell you how to contact me.
1. Remind, codes are on google classroom, enrolling counts as an assignment. Please use your real name while signing up.
2. You can email me, always put your name and period in the "subject bar"
3. Do not comment on google assignments to ask questions
This is the class website where resources will be up for you to access. I will update this website often so please be sure to save this link as a bookmark or favorite on your computer or phone. Also, please write down this website on the first page of your notebook.
To the left are the tabs for different pages. The homework calendars are under the Homework Assignments tab. The document is living so I will be adding assignments daily for you to access. Anything written in blue is a link to either a PDF or video homework assignment/resource.
Classwork and homework PDFs will often be up for you to print out and have access to at all times. Sometimes they will be up days in advance so feel free to get ahead! Remember a classroom is dynamic so assignments and homework are subject to change.
