This page includes the design and firmware for a DIY wired XR18 Midi footswitch that uses a high-visibility OLED display and allows from 4 to 6 footswitches. Each switch can accommodate up to 6 slots (for channels, Aux, FX send, FX return or Main L/R) and can be programmed as mutes(on/off), faders(low/high) or to recall a snapshot. The XR18 NanoMute is easy to build and shouldn't cost more than $25 in parts (excluding the enclosure). The unit is particularly useful for controlling channel, FX, and output mutes, and allows for optional connection of a status led for each switch. Check out the PDFs below for more info. Versions: v2b - Currently posted version (described above) v3.1 - Adds FX tap, A/B snapshots and screen blanking options v3.2 - Adds Mute Groups and DCA mutes & faders v3.3 -Limits OSC to FX tap for optimal performanceThis version is also available for the XR16 and includes USB record/stop functionalityLater versions use the same hardware and installer package as v2, but require an updated hex file. If you've successfully built a v2 NanoMute and want the latest hex file, just send me a pic of your build by email at mr_hollywood@cogeco.ca and say hello. For anyone interested in going wireless, I've been using the NanoMute with a set of Widi Master Bluetooth adaptors and they work great. Just plug them in and they pair automatically...
