2 Corinthians 5:14
For the love of Christ constraineth us;
Remember the story of Baalam? He drove his ass down a road in defiance of God and kept goading it forward until it was jammed between two walls. It couldn’t turn right or left, so it sank down on all fours and refused to budge. The apostle is saying he must press forward; there is no other option open to him as he serves the master for whom he has suffered the loss of all things. Would that we in our service for the Lord could feel something of this constraining power.
