The nature of this independent church fellowship shall be to provide a base of Christian testimony for the building up of the saints and the winning of lost souls; rejecting Modernism, Worldliness, and Formalism; without reservation affirming and teaching the inspiration of the Bible, both the Old and New testaments; the creation of man by the direct act of God; the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; His identification as the Son of God; His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; the resurrection of His body from the tomb; His power to save men from sin; the new birth through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit; and the gift of eternal life by the grace of God.
The purpose of the forming of this independent church fellowship is to provide a place of worship for those who have trusted in Christ as Savior. This church is to be a place where Bible-believing people can be fed the Word of God so that they may grow in their walk with the LORD. It is a place where the unsaved will be welcomed, but miserable, until they get right with God through Christ. This church deems it necessary that the Pastor, deacons, trustees, Sunday School teachers, and all other church leaders be united in thought and effort in growing in the Faith, winning the lost to Christ, discipling believers, and fighting the Devil. 1 Corinthians 15:58 is our goal: "Therefore, my beloved bretheren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
This church is to be a place where the Bible is the rule for all doctirne and practice. We believe that God not only inspired the Bible but that He has preserved His Word through the Received Text of Holy Scripture. Therefore, the Authorized King James Version of the Bible is to be the only version that will be used in the ministry at MVBC, because it is the only English version of the Bible that comes completely from the Received Text.Though we have strong convictions upon this foundational truth of the Word of God, our attitude towards those who attend and bring another version of the Bible will be one of knidness and graciousness, not of meanness.
This fellowship of believers is to be a place where Biblical rules, regulations, and pricnicples are to be pursued and obeyed withou murmuring and disputing (Philipians 2:14); where backsliders are without comfort; where God's people live right and work together in harmony, doing all things decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40), looking for the imminent pre-millennial return of the LORD Jesus Christ; where Christians are concerned with their testimony before the world, and the testimony of others who profess to know the LORD Jesus; where God's people can give of their money (tithes and offerings), time, talents and effort without the fear of the devil, modernism, or false teachers profiting from it.
