The Anthropocene—our current geological period—acknowledges Homo sapiens as the dominant influence on Earth's land and climate. Here, in a time of contestation and contrasts, the human figure plays an ambiguous role: Fetishised yet abstracted, emerging from created space and merging back into it. In Pakistan, a country where privilege, desire, conformity and space are hotly debated, this series muses on the links between where we come from and where we might take ourselves. (This series is a response to the linear yet organic architecture of Naheed Mashooqullah.)
