Widdington Walk the Walk 2009

Widdington Walk the Walk
Raises over £11,300 for breast cancer charity

Organisers of a sponsored walk have handed over a cheque for a whopping £11,300 to the Walk the Walk breast cancer charity.
The money was raised after 250 men, women and children from Widdington and the surrounding area took part in a 5 mile
sponsored walk through the village and surrounding footpaths of Widdington and Debden in June 2009.

With all the money raised now collected and counted. Local organisers Lorraine Chitson, Chris Aresti and Viv Willis, handed over the cheque to Sally Orr and Ian Lamb, from the Walk the Walk organisation on the evening of Wednesday 21 October at The Fleur de Lys public house in Widdington.
“We’d like to thank all those people who turned out to walk with us in June and to those who very kindly sponsored them. The money raised by the Widdington Walkers will help support the marvellous work that Walk The Walk’s does in raising awareness of breast cancer,” said Lorraine. “We hope to repeat the success of this year’s event by organising another sponsored walk in the future, and raise even more money for charity,”

.Hi Lorraine,

I want to send a huge thank you and congratulations to everybody who made the Widdington Walk the tremendous success it clearly was, and of whom you yourself were a driving force. I also want to offer a special, heartfelt and personal thank you to you, Michael, Chris and Nicholas for being so warm, welcoming and generous in inviting both Sally and I to come and meet you all and celebrate your achievement. I can not express how truly grateful I am for an excellent dinner (complements to the house), and for even better company.
Walk the Walk has launched most of the events for 2010 and we are all very busy here. If anyone in the village has an interest in taking part in a Walk the Walk event for 2010, either by walking or volunteering, they are welcome to contact me and I’ll be delighted to help – N.B. the last method of entry to the Playtex MoonWalk, paper forms, opens on Thursday the 5th, with locations to collect the forms publicised through our website.
I shall pay special attention to the Widdington website now (loving the update) and I have no doubt that Walk the Walk will be in touch in the future!
Hope to hear from you soon!
