WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN TRAVELING TO AND FROM SWIM MEETS:
We will car pool for most swim meets. Please find your rides two week prior to each meet or timed trials.
There will be a team meeting prior to our scheduled warm-ups All swimmers must be in their team suits and ready for warm-ups. Please check the e-mailed weekly team announcements for the meeting times for all meets.
For Friday meets right after school, the team will get a bus. The ENTIRE TEAM will ride the bus, there and back. NO EXCEPTIONS
We will support all team members, by staying with the team until we are ALL done. See team commitment.
Everyone is expected to help set up, break down and transport the tents, equipment and host facility. QUICKLY!
Once everything is done, then we can all leave.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF EACH SWIMMER AT A SWIM MEETS:
For all of the meets it is a good idea to plan to be at the location, half an hour before the meeting time. Traffic can be pretty crazy and parking is not always so readily available, so please be prepared. We will set up our tents and our area. In the team meeting we will stretch and get ready for warm ups together as a team. When Coach mark is called to the coaches meeting, please make it a point to check out the heat sheets posted on the wall to see what event, heat and lane YOU will be swimming in. When I get back from the meeting please help coach Annie and my self to highlight the heat sheets. Once the heat sheets are done, you can re-check your events with either coaches.
Once the meet starts, the coaches are getting your splits, watching your races and discussing what you need to work on for the next time. This will be difficult in general, but it will be really crazy if there are more than three of you in a heat. So help the coaches out, please be prepared. Check the heat sheets on the wall not the coaches!
REMOVE ALL JEWELRY, RUBBERBANDS, TEPORARRY TATTOOS, ETC. PRIOR TO WARM UPS
Know the exact event, heat and lane you are swimming in. Stand behind the timers when your told to go up, and be ready to get on the block when it is your turn.
Put your goggles / cap on before you get on the block.
Get on the block at the right time with no delay, no matter what anyone tells you. The only exception are the people in the white shirts and khaki shorts/pants (officials) or
Swim Hard!
Come directly back to the coaches to discuss your race. If there are others racing, please wait until the coaches have a minute to talk to you.
Be ready for your next event.
Every member of MOANALUA SWIMMING is expected to stay at the meet until the TEAM is done. We are a team and we will support all of our teammates. We will not leave our area littered with stuff. We will help breakdown the facility and clean up the entire pool area.
The sooner everything gets done, the sooner you get to leave. Please do not stand around doing nothing and ask the coaches to leave early.
Thank you
