The Minnesota Junior Winds (MJW) are proud to announce the 3rd Annual MJW Honor Band Event for First & Second Year band students on Saturday, March 14th! The event will be held at Eastview High School in Apple Valley, MN.
About
It is our hope that this event will encourage each student’s musical growth and build relational connections with other student musicians. Students will be sent music in advance and will be expected to prepare all notes/rhythms. Students will work in large group rehearsals and small group sectionals with MJW Staff and guest coaches.
Nomination Process <Nomination Form to be posted later!>
Directors/Private Teachers, please nominate your most skilled students to participate. Please include T-shirt size! <Nomination Form to be posted later!>. Nominations are due by Monday Dec 16th. Rosters will be sent out by Fri, Jan 10 followed shortly by music. Please do not nominate current MJW students (send them to other honor bands events!).
Fee
$35 registration fee covers lunch, shirt, staff and facility rental. Payment will be due immediately after the roster is sent out.
Schedule
Students will be expected to attend all rehearsals to participate in performance.
8:00 am Registration at the upper main entrance. Meet in the auditorium for welcome and introductions.
8:30 am Sectionals/Rehearsal
9:30 am Rehearsal/Sectionals
10:20 am Light snack
10:40 am Rehearsal
12:00 pm Concert (45-60 minutes in length)
