Dr. Kurt Cereske
Dr. Kurt Cereske is the Principal Associate Conductor and Kodály Studies Director for the National Children’s Chorus. He has an extensive background in music education, having served as the Director of Music and music specialist for 15 years at St. Paul’s First Lutheran in North Hollywood, CA. Most recently, he was the Fine Arts Coordinator for Lubbock Independent School District, where he mentored and oversaw elementary and secondary music teachers and directors. Dr. Cereske is a founding member of the Lutheran Institute for Music Education (LIME). He graduated from DMLC in 1990, earned a Master’s in Music Education from Michigan State University in 1992, and received his Ph.D. in Fine Arts Music Education from Texas Tech University in 2023.
