The concept of "flipped instruction" has taken off in most subject areas this past decade. There are numerous benefits to this trend, such as increased time for the students to discuss and apply the topics they are learning about and increased opportunities for differentiation. The subject that could benefit the most from this is Word of God. In this presentation, Stephen Gurgel will share how his religion department has utilized multimedia tools to flip Word of God class to increase engagement, discussion, and application of the Scriptures.

Stephen Gurgel serves as a Religion and History teacher at West Lutheran High School. He graduated from MLC in 2011 and from UW-Milwaukee in 2012 with a Masters of Arts in History.
